Rare four-legged Massue stool by Charlotte Perriand, France, 1970s.
Usually produced with three legs, this uncommon four-legged version was specially commissioned by a private client.
Its thick circular seat rests on four slightly splayed cylindrical legs, giving the piece exceptional stability. The wood grain, enhanced by its original honey-toned patina, lends the stool a warm and natural character. Both understated and robust, it exemplifies the honest, functional aesthetic of mountain furniture and the modernist interiors of the period.
The stool shows signs of age and use, with a beautiful original patina acquired over time.
