Wardrobe designed by Le Corbusier for the Cité Radieuse in Marseille, circa 1950.
This integrated piece, with its sleek and functional structure, is made of lacquered wood. It served both as a storage unit and a space divider. On one side, the wardrobe opens with two doors, revealing a hanging closet on the right and a dressing space with multiple shelves and drawers on the left. On the other side, the wardrobe functions as a bedside table, optimizing space while maintaining a minimalist appearance.
Its simple and rigorous design perfectly embodies Le Corbusier's philosophy, seeing furniture as a natural extension of architecture. The wardrobe stands out for its ability to blend harmoniously into its environment while offering great functionality for the residents of the Cité Radieuse.
This piece has been carefully restored by our partner cabinetmaker, respecting the original colors and finishes.
