Tall Polinio pedestal table, designed by Andrea Branzi circa 1990.
Its slender structure is composed of thin metal uprights punctuated by bamboo-like rings, supporting a circular top in orange-red lacquered wood with an ogee-profiled apron. The top is structured by a broad central band against a beige background, creating a graphic contrast with the lightness of the base.
Through its proportions, colors, and combination of a delicate linear structure with a strongly graphic top, the Polinio reflects Andrea Branzi's exploration of Italian postmodern furniture, continuing the radical experimentation that had characterized his work since the 1970s and 1980s.
Signed underneath the top. Superficial scratches.
