"Inspired by the foreshore of the River Thames. Communion is inspired by the foreshore of the River Thames, where the falling tide reveals a landscape of mud, water and constantly shifting marks.
I am drawn to the shapes created by the water and to the sense that the river holds traces of those who have passed through it. For centuries, people have brought offerings to rivers, and the Thames continues to reveal fragments of these acts of belief and connection.
The title Communion reflects my own sense of a spiritual connection with the river, while also suggesting the deeper relationship between people, nature and place. The river becomes a meeting point between the physical and the unseen, the present and the past."
