"
He Wore a Crown is inspired by the copse of trees on Win Green, an iconic landmark on Cranborne Chase.
Underneath the copse lies an ancient Bronze Age burial mound, traditionally associated with the burial of a person of high status, perhaps even a king. The thought of someone being laid to rest here thousands of years ago adds another layer of history to this familiar landscape.
The trees have become a constant presence on the hill, standing above a landscape shaped by generations of people. The title is a playful but contemplative reference to the possibility of the ancient figure beneath the ground, and to the enduring sense of ceremony and mystery that surrounds the place."
