The Trays are navette shaped in form and rise to a reeded rim.  The base is engraved with an outer band of ovals with crosses between, surrounded by prick dot bands.  Each end is decorated with a raying stylised floral motif and the centre displays an oval bright cut engraved cartouche, containing a contemporary Crest issuing from a mural coronet.  Both trays are in excellent condition and are very well marked on the reverse.  Thomas Ollivant was known to have bought finished goods from Hester Bateman's workshops and stamp his maker's mark over hers, acting more as a retailer than a silversmith.
