The Dish consists of three deep scallop shell dishes, with raying shells at the top, all joined together with plain scrolls. Each shell stands on a very detailed cast dolphin foot and the centre displays a fruiting bud, on lobed platform, which also doubles as a carrying handle. This unusual piece is also engraved with a contemporary Crest, is in excellent condition and is well marked on the underside.
As you will appreciate, Sheffield was known for their innovative designs during the Georgian period and this piece would be extremely useful on the table and a decorative item when not in use.
