The Wine Coasters are circular in form and rise to an everted rim decorated with reeding.  The sides are pierced with trellis work designs, which are decorated with bright cut and wriggle work engraving, the facets of which would have caught the candle light to create a sparkling effect.  Both pieces have their original turned box wood bases with central silver boss engraved with a contemporary squirrel family Crest.  The Coasters are in excellent condition and are very well marked.  The Hennell family were superior maker's of wine coasters, however this is an unusual design to see from their workshops.

Height: 1.5 inches, 3.75 cm.
