The Serving Slice has a triangular, slightly curved, blade with engraved herring bone egde and vertical pierced pails decorated with flowing foliate scrolls, tri-furcated motifs and flower heads.  The cast handle has a feather edge border and tri-furcated moulding where it meets the blade.  The top of the handle is beautifully pierced and chased with roundels and a central foliate motif.  This is one of the most beautiful trowels we have offered over the years and is in quite exceptional condition.  It is very well marked on the reverse.  Richard Meach was a quality silversmith and made very fine pierced items, especially slices.
