This is a beautiful design which we had not previously encountered from Hester Bateman's workshops. The Cellars stand on four claw and ball feet and the oval bodies rise to a wavy rim decorated with an applied beaded band. The sides are pierced with raying flower heads in roundels and vertical pails. The piercing is interspersed with engraved floral garlands and wriggle work bands. The front displays a navette shaped cartouche containing the contemporary script initial "H". Both are in excellent condition, have a blue glass liner, and crisp marks on the base.
