Clive Halnan
Clive Halnan was born in February 1952 in Darjeeling India.
His early years were spent in a country filled with scents, sounds, wonderful colours and of course such pure light. All this inspired him to draw and paint.
Active participation in many outdoor pursuits and in particular his passion for fly fishing have given him the opportunity to observe and record detail. This is reflected in all his work, particularly subjects based on boats, coastal scenes and marine life.
The majority of his works are created using a variety of palette knives to apply acrylic paints onto canvas. His method of combining the powerful impact of vibrant colours and the effects formed by these tools produce truly unique and varied works of art.
Original works reside in private collections around the country and he has also helped individuals, charitable trusts and institutions raise money by gifting paintings and limited edition prints for their chosen causes.
Clive and his wife Debbie live in Lyndhurst at the Heart of the New Forest, close to the Solent. Their children, Amy and Matthew are both qualified graphic designers.
