The Basket stands on a rectangular pedestal foot, with incuse corners decorated with reeded bands. The main body also has incuse panels which are engraved with bands of flower heads, within prick dot frames. The front and reverse displays a vacant shield shaped cartouche, surrounded by drapery mantling, a typical design of the 1790's. The shaped, arched, handle is decorated with reeding and the interior displays original gilding. This piece is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked in the foot and with the Sterling Mark on the handle.
