The Gold case is of shaped rectangular form, with bright cut borders and raised, chased, raying floral motifs.  The front and reverse is enamelled in translucent Night blue displaying a central arrangement of trophies and scientific instruments within beaded borders with laurel wreaths below and crossed ribbons above.  The gold case displays a plain gold button, which when pressed, releases the magnifying glass.  This piece is in outstanding condition because it still possesses its red leather silk and velvet lined case which is stamped with gold floral motifs.  An exceptionally rare survivor in the most outstanding, original, condition.

Length: 3.5 inches, 8.75 cm.
