An unusual George III Caddy Spoon made in London in 1817 by Josiah Snatt.

£425

The Caddy Spoon has a very unusual deep square bowl, with shaped edge and pleated sides.  The bowl is decorated with wriggle work bands, linear designs and a central trellis work panel.  The elegant slender handle is modelled in the Fiddle Thread and Shell pattern and the spoon is fully marked on the side of the bowl.  Examples are not common from the workshops of Josiah Snatt.  A similar shaped bowl can be seen in "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie Plate 24, figure f.  This piece is in excellent condition.

Length: 3.15 inches, 7.88 cm.

Width of bowl: 1.5 inches, 3.75 cm
