The Snuff Box is of an unusual slender broad rectangular form with rounded ends. The cover has a flush hinge and together with the base, is crisply engraved with symmetrical pluming scroll work and foliate designs on a prick dot ground. The sides are decorated with chequered designs and the cover displays a vacant oval cartouche. The interior displays deep gilding and is fully marked in the base and on the underside of the cover. This piece is in excellent, crisp, condition.
