The Salt Cellars are realistically modelled as Tubs with carrying handles pierced into the sides. The rim is decorated with gadrooning and the interiors are finely gilded. The front is engraved with a contemporary Crest and each displays a crisp set of hallmarks. This is a design which was produced in the workshops of the superior silversmith, Richard Cooke. He worked in the circle of Paul Storr and supplied the Royal retailers, Rundell & Company. Both are of a very good weight and are in excellent condition.
