The Skewer is modelled in a typically Chester design, with a slightly tapering blade and oval ring above. The blade is very well marked and is engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. Robert Jones was a Liverpool maker who specialised in the production of skewers and sent his work to Chester to be marked at the Assay Office. The Skewer is in excellent condition.
