A rare Leaf Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1901 by George Unite.

£325

The spoon we refer to was made in Birmingham in 1901 by George Unite and is based on the Matthew Linwood Leaf Caddy Spoon designs of the George III period, particularly one shown on Plate 45 of "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie.   As you will see from the attached images, the Caddy Spoon has a large circular bowl, with serrated edge.  The bowl displays detailed raised veins on a matted surface, which is all in excellent, crisp, condition.  The spoon has a twisted loop handle, with a small leaf attached to the top.  This example displays a crisp set of marks on the edge of the bowl.

Length: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.

Diameter of the bowl: 2.1 inches, 5.25 cm.
