A very fine pair of silver gilt Neo-Classical revival Salt Cellars made in Birmingham by the famous firm of Freerick Elkington in 1878.

The Salt Cellars are of a most unusual design and have a baluster form with everted dipping rim. The sides are decorated with a lower lobed band and the upper section is decorated with Classical drapery swags interspersed with paterae. Each is in excellent condition and are very well marked. They are of the finest quality as would be expected from this famous firm.
