A very rare and exceptionally fine george iv silver gilt and bloodstone vinaigrette. Made most probably in Scotland circa 1830.

This exceptionally fine Vinaigrette has an unusual deep square form, with cut corners. The silver gilt sides display chased protruding bands and are also engraved with bright cut trailing floral scrolls. Both the cover and base are inset with a beautiful bloodstone panel and the interior grille is pierced and chased with scrolls and flowerheads, all contained within a bright cut frame. The box is in excellent condition and is a rare survivor from this period.
