The Vinaigrette is oval in form with plain sides and base. The cover is inset with an unusually shaded Scottish agate panel. The interior is very finely gilded and the grille is beautifully pierced and engraved with foliate sprigs and flower heads, within a bright cut frame. The Vinaigrette is in excellent condition and is very well marked with the distinctive maker's mark in the base. Scottish Vinaigrettes are very rare and do not appear on the market often, especially with such beautiful grilles.
