The Creamboat has an elongated, shallow, form which rises to an everted and shaped rim. The main body stands on three very finely detailed paw feet with majestic lion mask mouldings where they are attached to the main body. This piece has a leaf capped flying scroll handle. The side is engraved with a contemporary Crest and the underside with " The Gift of Mrs Penton to Deborah Grove". This piece is in excellent condition and displays a full set of marks on the underside of the body. Joseph Sanders had workshops in Carey Lane when this cream boat was made.
Length, handle to spout: 6 inches, 15 cm.
Width, at the widest point: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.
Height to the rim: 2 inches, 5 cm.
Height, to the top of the handle: 3 inches, 7.5 cm.
Weight: 8oz.
