The Vinaigrette is modelled in a larger size and is broad rectangular in form with canted corners. The base and cover are formed of large facetted smoky quartz panels, jointed in the middle by a wide gold girdle unusually chased with basket weave decoration. The cover opens up to reveal an unusual foliate grille with central raying leaf surrounded by trailing foliate sprigs all contained within a foliate spear frame. This piece is in quite excellent condition.
