Very few Snuff Boxes are circular in design, however this is beautifully modelled in this form, with plain incuse sides and a pull-off cover. Both the cover and base have a cast floral and foliate scroll border enclosing various different circular bands of engine turned designs. The decoration has been finely executed and the cover displays a vacant circular cartouche. The Box has exceptionally deep interior gilding and is very well marked on both pieces, also with an "Incuse" maker's mark of RM. This is where the silversmith has chosen to engrave his maker's mark, rather than strike it with a punch. The Box is in quite excellent condition and has seen very little use over all of the years.
