The Basket stands on a domed foot decorated with a beaded band and pierced with beautiful flower heads in roundels. The vase shaped main body rises to a beaded rim and is pierced with horizontal bands of vitruvian scrolls, flower heads in roundels and vertical pails, as well as flower heads in ovals. The sides are also engraved with bluebell garlands, beaded swags and raying flower heads and the front displays a vacant oval cartouche. The arched handle is decorated with applied beading and this piece has a blue glass liner. It is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked on the underside of the main body. The design, and decoration, shown on this piece illustrates the beautiful work of Hester Bateman at its best.

Height to the top of the handle: 6.25 inches, 15.63 cm.
Daimeter at the rim: 3.2 inches, 8 cm.
