This particular wine funnel is illustrated in David Shure's Book, "Hester Bateman". The bowl has a wavy "Rosette" form design with gadrooned rim. The bowl is pierced with eight increasing rows of roundels to strain the sediment from the wine. The exterior of the bowl also displays a shaped side clip where it could be attached to the bowl when making punch. The removable spout is decorated with reeding and is in original condition. This piece is in excellent order and is fully marked on the bowl and with the maker's mark and sterling mark on the spout.
