The Apple Corer has a tubular, shaped, handle beautifully engraved with foliate scrolls and flower heads. The side is also engraved with a Rococo style scroll cartouche containing a contemporary stag Crest with the initials MB below. The end is also finely engraved with trellis work surrounded by pluming scrolls. The plain blade unscrews and can be placed inside the handle for travelling. The quality of design and production is exceptional, as would be expected from these makers, who produced some of the finest smallwares of the period. The engraving has been particularly well executed.
