The Vinaigrette is modelled in the rare escutcheon form and the cover is decorated with bright cut engraved designs including foliate motifs and flower heads in tiny ovals. The plain base is engraved with prick dot bands. The interior displays exceptional gilding and a very unusual and beautiful grille of simulated filigree, depicting trellis work, beading and a stylised anthemion. A very rare design in excellent condition, peculiar to the workshops of Cocks & Bettridge.
