The Dishes are modelled in a shaped oval form with a raised bold gadrooned rim.  Each side is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by a finely executed cartouche of drapery mantling.  The Dishes are of a very good weight and gauge and are very well marked on the reverse.

The left hand side of the Armorial are the arms of Tennant and the right are Anderson-Pelham quartering Anderson.  They are specifically those of William Tennant (1783-1835).  In 1804 he married the Hon.  Maria Charlotte Anderson-Pelham (1780-1840), daughter of the 1st Earl of Yarborough.  Their seat was Little Aston Hall in Staffordshire.

Barak Mewburn was the son of John Mewburn and entered his first mark in August 1826.  His workshops were located at 19, Abington Row when these dishes were made.
