The Snuff Box is of slender broad rectangular form. The cover and base are decorated with engine turned designs and the sides with reeding. This example displays a floral and foliate cast thumb piece and the cover also displays an oblong cartouche engraved with the contemporary inscription From a Friend to Rev D. Cole. The interior is well marked and displays very fine original gilding.
