The Bodkin Case is made of tortoiseshell and is of a tapering rectangular form. The sides display a gold girdle where the cover comes off and both sides of the main body are beautifully inlaid with silver and two colours of gold floral and foliate sprays. The top of the cover is inset with a silver flower head and the base with a Rococo shell. The quality of production is exceptional and this piece is in quite excellent condition.
